Yes to Tomatoes 3-Step Acne Kit Review
Acne. Nearly all of us deal with it, some of us more than others. I'm one of those that had many issues during my mid-teen years, and although it's mellowed out a bit now that I'm older (twenty to be exact), it's been giving me a fair share of trouble lately.
When I was a Target last month I saw they had the Yes to Tomatoes 3-Step Acne Bundle. It's $20 for three products, all of which contain salicylic acid and are petroleum, SLS, and paraben free. Most of you know how important natural health and beauty are for me, so seeing that it was a natural choice plus the fact that I've been very happy with other Yes to products I've used I decided to give it a go. I'm not usually one to impulse buy something like this, but it ended up being worth it for me!
Like I said I bought mine at Target, but it is also sold at Yes to, Amazon, and Walmart. If you go to the In Store Coupon section of the Yes To site, you can get $3 off any Yes To purchase of $6 or more.
Before I tell you how it works, here's a bit about my skin:
I have oily skin that tends to break out mainly on my chin, jawbone, and temples/forehead. The type of acne I usually get is the kind with white pus underneath the surface. To wash my face I use a washcloth and water, so no soap or face wash.
Yes to Tomatoes Daily Pore Scrub
This is a gentle scrub that uses ground mango seeds and bamboo to exfoliate. It contains 2% salicylic acid to fight acne, along with ginger and tomato to help with redness and irritation and is 99% natural. Most scrubs aren't made to be used every day, but since this one is really easy on the skin and I can see it being used daily like recommended. It has an interesting smell that's hard to describe, but isn't very strong or noticeable unless you're trying to smell it.
Yes to Tomatoes Daily Repair Treatment
This comes in a bottle with pump and cap and it like the consistency of a moisturizer. You apply it to areas that you're prone to breaking out. For me that's my chin, tops of my cheeks, temples, and forehead. It contains 1% salicylic acid, so it may dry out your skin, although It hasn't been an issue for me, probably because I have very oily prone skin. If you use a moisturizer it can go on after this Repair Treatment (there's even a Yes To Tomatoes Moisturizer if you're on the lookout for one).
Yes to Tomatoes Roller Ball Spot Stick
This is one of the best parts of the kit, the spot stick. It contains 2% salicylic acid, so it can really combat acne spots, along with with ginger root and tomato to help with the redness. It's also 97% natural. I find this stuff highly effective. In the morning I'll put it on any trouble spots and it significantly helps with the redness. If I remember to put it on twice a day, the spot will be mostly in a couple days, depending on how bad the blemish is. Since it has a roller ball it applies really easy.
Overall this kit has a huge help for me. Even after using it for just a few days I noticed a difference. My face is a lot less red and if I keep up with the routine when any new spots appear, I can usually keep it from getting any worse. I've found that it's makes the biggest difference when I'm using it every day. Since I only shower every other day, often I don't end up doing this on the days I don't shower, and although it helps significantly, it's much more effective when used daily. I like that it's natural, reasonably priced, and gets the job done.

Beauty Routine | Updated Edition
It's been eight months since I last shared what beauty products I use on a regular bases, so I though it was time for an update. I've changed about half the products I use since then, so there's a lot of new stuff. Most of the changes were because I found a more natural and/or affordable product that I liked.

Petit Vour Unboxing :: September 2014
After Saffron Rouge cancelded their Inner Circle Subscription Box, I decided to try out Petit Vour. For $15 at month shipped you get 4-5 deluxe sample or full-sized products. All of their products are cruelty free and natural.
My first box came in August, which I was kinda "meh" with, and didn't take photos for an unboxing. This months box is a huge it for me, though!
Starting on the left and going clockwise:
Root Science RS Detox | 1oz sample, $25 value
I'm always up for a new face mask, especially with such fantastic ingredients.
Lily Lolo Mineral Eyeshadow in Soul Sister | Full Size, $12 value
I've been wanting to find a good brown eyeshadow, so this couldn't have come at a better time. It's a lovely shadow with just a hint of shimmer and goes on really well.
Yarok Leave-In Conditioner | 2oz, $13.20 value
This conditioner spray is supposed to be good to use prior to blow drying or heat styling. Looking forward to giving it a go the next time I curl my hair.
Ellovi Tinted Lip Butter | Full Size, $5
Since tinted lip balms are my favorite lip products, I was excited to see this. I love that there's only six ingredients.
The total value of this month's box is $55, over three times what I paid for the box. What a great value. I'll definitely be using the eyeshadow on a regular basis and I'm exited to try out all the other products.

Do you subscribe to Petit Vour or any other subscription boxes?

Hauls :: Target and Hobby Lobby
Today I have something new that I've never done before: a haul! I personally love seeing what other people buy and the great deals they find. It's a great way to discover new products and items! Today I have two hauls, one from Target on Monday and from Hobby Lobby yesterday.
First up, Target! I wasn't planning on getting anything when I went in, but you all know how that goes. ;) They had a spend $20 save $5 and spend $35 save $10 off coupon at the time, which was a great deal! That's why I ended up getting so much.
Yes To Tomatoes 3-Step Acne System - $19.99
This kit is a daily treatment to naturally fight acne. It contains a pore scrub, repair treatment, and roller ball spot stick. I'll to a full review after I've been using it for a month, but so far it seems to be helping.
Pomegranate SPF 15 Naturally Smooth Lip Balm - $2.99
I've been on the hunt for a perfect natural lip balm and this is one of the best ones I've tried so far!
Yes to Carrots Fragrance Free Wipes - $5.99
Haven't tried these out yet, but I've been needing some wipes to remove all the makeup off my face.
Yes to Grapefruit Daily Facial Scrub - Free
This was a free sample with the face wipes.

Next up was Hobby Lobby. I went in for yarn and not only came out with that, but a bunch of Christmas stuff as well! Since I don't get to the craft store very often, and probably be able to make it once the holiday season rolls around, I decided to splurge a little.
I Love This Cotton! in Christmas and ??? - $2.66 each
I'm knitting fall and Christmas themed washcloths.
Blank Christmas Cards and Envelopes - $5.99 for 50
A bunch of different patterns that will be perfect for embellishing!
Twine - $1.99
For the cinnamon sticks.
Jingle Bells - $2.40
I'm not completely sure what I'll end up doing with these, but I'm thinking maybe I can attache them to some bobby pins for hair accessories.
Large Cinnamon Sticks - $5.99
To make cinnamon stick stars, tied together with twine at the joints.
"Noel" Decoration - $5.99
And that's it! Would you all be interested in more haul posts in the future? What fun items or deals have you found lately?

Saffron Rouge Inner Circle Unboxing | May 2014
Hey everyone!
So today I'm sharing something really fun and exciting for me: an unboxing of a beauty subscription box!
For a couple years now I've enjoyed watching YouTube videos and blog posts of other people sharing what they got in various subscription boxes. I really liked the idea, but it wasn't till last month that I finally signed up for one myself.

Natural Beauty Products I Use
On my Natural Living post Kristin suggested writing about the natural beauty products I use. I though that was a fantastic idea, thus the post you're reading right this moment.
The list below is every product I'm currently using. My goal when choosing beauty products is for them to be simple, natural, and inexpensive.
Hair
Homemade Castile Soap Shampoo
I've had oily and flaky hair problems for many years now, and I've found that this shampoo works the best for my hair. I tried going no-poo for a while, but my scalp is just too greasy even after I adjusted from using regular shampoo.
I make my own shampoo using unscented liquid castle soap and water. I put one part soap to three parts water in a plastic squeeze bottle. It still gets foamy like regular shampoo, which I like. The peppermint kind made my scalp smell funny, so I switched to the unscented and haven't had a problem since.

Natural Living
It was just recently that I realized that natural living is such a big part of me. I never even thought about it before, but nearly every time I get on the computer I end up looking at and/or researching something related to it. Since it's something that I enjoy I just ended up doing it without realizing it.
The thing is in the four months I've had this blog I've yet to post a single thing about natural health or beauty. Now that's sad! That's going to change now, as I have quite a few posts I want to get written up relating to it. Before we dive into that though, I decided to write up with post about my thoughts on natural living.
Natural living to me is living in a way that you're using as minimal artificial ingredients and chemicals as possible. Instead I try and buy products with simple and natural ingredients, but there are many items I'll make myself instead. Natural living covers everything; what you eat and put on your skin to what you wash your clothes with and clean your kitchen with.
Some ways I've made my lifestyle more clean and natural are:
-washing my hair with homemade shampoo
-using apple cider vinegar in place of conditioner
-eating foods without artificial ingredients or preservatives
-using vinegar and water as a window cleaner
-buying toothpaste without sodium laurel sulfate
-choosing glass over plastic when I can
Those are just some of the main things I'm doing that fit into my natural lifestyle. I'm always trying to improve it though, as I can only keep making it better and better. My current ongoing project is to convert all of my store bought makeup to natural homemade makeup. I started yesterday by making my own mascara and lip balm, both which I plan on posting about soon.
My goal when buying products is to find ones with ingredients that I would use if I was going to make it myself. Some things are just really hard to find without bad ingredients, so with those types of things I try to either make my own or do without if possible.
When it comes down to it, we really don't need as many cleaning products as the world wants us to believe. It's all just advertising making us think we "need" a different product for every chore. Less is more, in my opinion. Just give me some vinegar, baking soda, and liquid castile soap and I can clean just about anything!
And that's about all I have to say at the moment. Hopefully that all makes sense. If it doesn't, or if you have any questions just let me know!
