Hauls :: Target and Hobby Lobby

Today I have something new that I've never done before: a haul! I personally love seeing what other people buy and the great deals they find. It's a great way to discover new products and items! Today I have two hauls, one from Target on Monday and from Hobby Lobby yesterday.

Yes To... Haul from Target :: Ribbons Down My Back

First up, Target! I wasn't planning on getting anything when I went in, but you all know how that goes. ;) They had a spend $20 save $5 and spend $35 save $10 off coupon at the time, which was a great deal! That's why I ended up getting so much.

Yes To Tomatoes 3-Step Acne System - $19.99
This kit is a daily treatment to naturally fight acne. It contains a pore scrub, repair treatment, and roller ball spot stick. I'll to a full review after I've been using it for a month, but so far it seems to be helping.

Pomegranate SPF 15 Naturally Smooth Lip Balm - $2.99
I've been on the hunt for a perfect natural lip balm and this is one of the best ones I've tried so far!

Yes to Carrots Fragrance Free Wipes - $5.99
Haven't tried these out yet, but I've been needing some wipes to remove all the makeup off my face.

Yes to Grapefruit Daily Facial Scrub - Free
This was a free sample with the face wipes.

Hobby Lobby Haul :: Ribbons Down My Back

Next up was Hobby Lobby. I went in for yarn and not only came out with that, but a bunch of Christmas stuff as well! Since I don't get to the craft store very often, and probably be able to make it once the holiday season rolls around, I decided to splurge a little.

I Love This Cotton! in Christmas and ??? - $2.66 each
I'm knitting fall and Christmas themed washcloths.

Blank Christmas Cards and Envelopes - $5.99 for 50
A bunch of different patterns that will be perfect for embellishing!

Twine - $1.99
For the cinnamon sticks.

Jingle Bells - $2.40
I'm not completely sure what I'll end up doing with these, but I'm thinking maybe I can attache them to some bobby pins for hair accessories.

Large Cinnamon Sticks - $5.99
To make cinnamon stick stars, tied together with twine at the joints.

"Noel" Decoration - $5.99

And that's it! Would you all be interested in more haul posts in the future? What fun items or deals have you found lately?

In Front of the Camera

Everyone knows that I'm the one always behind the camera. Events, visiting with friends, traveling. My camera is always in my hand and ready to fire. I love being able to capture special memories, but the downside is that I'm rarely in any images. So when I asked Morgan (my photography buddy) if she'd be up for taking some portraits of me when she came up and visited, I was really excited when she said yes! Although I'd done tons of photoshoots with friends and family over the years, I'd never actually had a photo shoot done of myself. It was quite fun being on the other side of the camera for once!

In the morning we went to the waterfront, which was perfect for lots of photos. The lighthouse grounds are a perfect spot for portraits. Later in the evening we went around my neighborhood and up to the school yard not far from my house for some golden light shots.

I'm really happy with how these all turned out; Morg did a fantastic job! Now I have more than a just couple shots of myself that I really love. Thank you so much Morgan! Maybe we could make this an annual thing? And maybe the next time we get together I can do a photoshoot of you? :)

The First Sock

This is my first week joining in on Yarn Along, a weekly linkup where you share what you're knitting/crocheting and what book you're currently reading.

---

Currently I'm working on my first pair of socks. It's the Silver's Sock Class pattern, which is a tutorial with lots of photos. I'm also doing it with the Beginner's Knit Along group that I'm part of.

As far as books, I just started All God's Children by Anna Schmidt, which is set durring WWII, my favorite historical period. I got it for free on my Kindle a while back.

Summer 2014

Summer.

There weren't any big plans this year. No vacations; No big events. My first summer with a job. But it was still a fun and one of the best in years. Since growing up, summer hasn't been my favorite part of the year. I really enjoyed this one, though.

Some of the highlights:

-Went to the beach.
-Got sunburned really bad on my back and legs. Going to work the two days afterword were incredibly painful.
-Saw two movies in theater; Maleficent and Guardians of the Galaxy.
-Went to Snoqualmie Falls with Morg and her family. Then we hiked to Denny Creek and played in the glacier water. Then we went to Triple X Root Beer and played Concentration till our hands were red and stinging.
-Took lots of photos.
-Bought a Kindle.
-Worked a lot. Had a few eight day weeks, which are not fun at all. At least I have fun co-workers and bosses that make bearable.
-Had a lot of Monk, Doctor Who, and Criminal Minds marathons.
-Learned how to knit. And got addicted soon afterwards.

-Bought VSCO 01 for Lightroom. Best presets ever.
-Stayed home alone for several days.
-Had firepits in the backyard. Some with family and some with friends.
-Had a Doctor Who Tea Party
-Went on lots of shopping trips and bought way too much stuff.
-Became penpals with my friend Rose.
-Went to the film premier for a local film that my mom, sister, and I were extras in. Then got to visit with friends in the area who we don't get to see very often. All of our running around and dancing made me crazy sweaty, especially in the heat. It was so worth it though.
-Decided to start saving for a Canon 6D.
-Ate too much chocolate coconut ice cream from Trader Joe's.
-Saw several $1 family movies at Regal Cinemas.
