The Weeping Willow Premiere

Weeping Willow, A Hunger Games Fan Film

Saturday was a big day for some friends of ours. Rogue Zohu Productions premiered Weeping Willow, a Hunger Games Fan Film at the Chalet Theater in Eunumclaw, WA. A lot of hard work and sleepless nights went into this event, but it payed off as the premiere was a huge success!

The best par is that not only is the Rogue Zohu team made up of homeschoolers and self-taught filmmakers, but the whole cast and crew for Weeping Willow are/were homeschoolers as well. Talk about awesome-sauce!

Meet My Tamron

Meet My Tamron | Ribbons Down My Back

Last Friday I was weeding through my Amazon wishlists (seriously. I have way too much stuff on there) when I saw the price for the lens I was planning on purchasing next: $418. This particular lens I've had on my wishlist for over a year and hadn't seen it fluctuate more than a few dollars from $500. Talk about a deal! Since I already had a large chunk of the money saved up, and since it was $80 off I was able to make the numbers work and ordered it just a few minutes later!

By Thursday afternoon I was holding this in my hand.

Morg & Siri Meet in Person!

Just a forewarning, this post is loaded with photos. And I mean packed to the brim. You've been warned. ;)

ETA: You can read Morgan's perspective on her blog.

After being friends 2+ years, I finally got to meet one of my best friends in person for the very first time. And it was awesome!

We first met online in 2010. We were both on the Lifestyle of Learning kids forum. Since we're both into photography, we often left replies on each others posts and started following each others blogs. I think we eventually started following each other on Pinterest as well. Honestly I don't remember how well we knew each other between discovering that this girl named Morgan existed and becoming FB friends. It's kinda a blur to me.

So in May of 2012 Morgan sends me a friend request on Facebook. I accept. I "like" photos she posts and she "likes" mine. Later in the summer I ask her if she wants to video chat. Kinda awkward at first, but we started video chatting more regularly and we're now really close friends. It didn't matter that we'd never met and person and that I was in WA while she was in GA, we became the best of friends.
